SolaBright cleans dirty solar panels

Qualube SolaBright is a new solution to clean solar panels. The pH neutral, low-foaming detergent is made by British lubricant and paint manufacturer Witham Group.The build-up of dirt, dust, bird droppings and other residues can significantly reduce efficiency by blocking sunlight from reaching the photovoltaic cells. Leading to a decrease in electricity production, some studies show that regular cleaning not only extends panel operational life, but can boost efficiency by up to 20%. The SolaBright cleaner is said to remove all these common culprits without damaging the delicate surface of the panels. Sprayed on with a foam lance or pressure washer and left to soak for 10 minutes, the surface is then rinsed with a brush or pressure washer.Suitable for all types of domestic and commercial solar panels, it is available in 5-litre (£15.13) and 25-litre (£61.81) containers.
